My teabag art for yesterday was another mixed media piece "Just add water"
My teabag art for today. This was a used teabag primed with clear gesso. The background was done with 3 different stencils and acrylic paint. The faucet and water droplet were painted with watercolor and gouache and details added with Prisma Watercolor pencils and black ink pen. The title was some words I tore out of a magazine and added with matte medium.

My teabag art for today. This was a used teabag primed with white gesso
My teabag art for today was on a used teabag primed with one coat of white gesso. I wet the background and dropped in shades of blue and paynes gray watercolor and before it dried I sprinkled it with sea salt. I let it dry naturally and then brushed away the salt and it left these beautiful starburst effects on the teabag. It looked like a field of wildflowers to me so I added a few details with a black ink pen and white gel pen.

My teabag art for today - Porta Salvo on the Amalfi coast of Italy
My teabag art for today - this one is Porta Salvo on the Amalfi Coast. Another lovely spot. This one was really hard to paint. Even with one coat of gesso (white or clear) the color of the teabag tends to bleed through and this pink one was really hard to cover. I used clear gesso but probably should have used white. Painted with watercolor and gouache and details added with a black permanent ink pen.

My teabag art for the day - Little girl and her donkey in Morocco
Ok - no laughing please. I have a hard time drawing figures realistlicly, LOL. This is a photo we took in Morocco of a little girl and her donkey. She was standing waiting for someone to join her. Very common beast of burden in Morocco. This was a used teabag, primed with clear gesso and painted with watercolor and gouache. Details added with a black ink pen.

My teabag art for today is of the Roman Colosseum in Rome, Italy
My teabag art for today is the Roman Colosseum, also known as the Flavian Amphitheatre, is an oval amphitheatre in the centre of the city of Rome, Italy. built of travertine, tuff, and brick-faced concrete, it is the largest amphitheatre ever built. The Colosseum is situated just east of the Roman Forum. Construction began under the emperor Vespasian in AD 72, and was completed in AD 80 under his successor and heir Titus. The colosseum could hold, it is estimated, between 50,000 and 80,000 spectators, having an average audience of some 65,000; it was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles. This was a used teabag primed with clear gesso, small touches of gouache were added. It was drawn with a black permanent ink pen.

My teabag art for the day is a Painting of The Statue of Liberty in NYC
My teabag art for the day. The Statue of Liberty. I am ashamed to say that I lived on the East Coast for most of my adult life and never made it to NYC. It wasn't until one of my trips back to the US from Australia that I was able to see this beautiful, quirky, one of a kind city and loved it. I will also admit that when we were on the ferry getting closer and closer to the Statue, I got all choked up and had tears in my eyes because I was finally getting to see this beautiful Iconic Lady which is an icon of freedom and of the United States, and was a welcoming sight to immigrants arriving from abroad.
The statue is a colossal neoclassical sculpture on Liberty Island in New York Harbor in New York City in the United States. The copper statue, a gift from the people of France to the people of the United States, was designed by French sculptor Frederic Auguste Bartholdi and built by Gustave Eiffel. The statue was dedicated on October 28, 1886.
This painting was done on an unused teabag and primed with clear gesso because I wanted the background to appear clear with just the statue shining through. It was painted with watercolor and gouache and I added some gold leaf to the torch and various spots on the background. Details addes with a black permanent ink pen.
