My teabag art for today is a guitar.  This was a used teabag primed with clear gesso and painted with acrylic paints.  I used drywall mesh over music note paper to fill the hole on the bottom right.  I did some scribbles with black permanent ink pen and some stenciling with black paint.

I just completed this Art Journal page.

I Just finished this art journal page "Time as a wonderful way of showing us what really matters".  The background was done with my gel press plate.  I added more detail with stencils and acrylic paint.  I did some doodling with black ink pen, white gel pen and posca pens.  The clock die is from a set by Kaisercraft called "Gentleman", the cogs die and stamp is from Kaisercraft "Cogs" set, the big arrow and the # is from a die set from Kaisercraft called "Icons", and the arrows are from a die set by Tim holtz called "Pocket Frame".  I also used black soot ink to ink the edges of the chipboard pieces.

My teabag art for today.  If you ever saw the video going around of the Italian man painting on glass with his fingers and acrylic paints - this was inspired by one of the paintings he did.  This was a used teabag primed with white gesso and painted with acrylic paints.

My teabag art for today is a mixed media piece of horses.

My mixed media teabag art for the day is of horse silhouettes.  This was inspired by a class I took from Ivy Newport.  This was a used teabag primed with clear gesso.  It was painted with acrylic paints and I used various stencuks abd a silhouette mask for the horses.

Bloom where you are planted Art Journal page

Another mixed media art journal page completed "Bloom where you are planted".  The background on this page was done on my gel press plate with alcohol inks although not much of it still shows.  Also the flowers are more intense in person but my scanner does not pick up intense colors very well.

I started with the page on the left and then the page after I cut off just leaving about an inch sticking out from the center spine so that I could glue a tag to it.  

This page was primed with white gesso and texture paste was added to the page through a stencil (no name on stencil so not sure where it came from).  Once the testure paste was dry, I added ShinHan watercolor and sprayed it with water to get it to bleed and run into each other.  After the watercolor was dry, I fitted the stencil back over the texture paste design and added Faber Castell Glass Bead Glitter gel over some of the texture (I LOVE THIS STUFF!!)

I then had some shipping tags my husband brought home from work for me in various colors (this one was originally green)  I primed the tag with one coat of white gesso and then I slapped on some lime and navy acrylic paint and blended them with a dry brush with white gesso on it.  I stamped the 2 circles with stitching with a stamp set from Carabelle Studio #SA6018R in Colorbox white pigment ink.  I then stamped some screen texture with some No name stamps I have in Momento nautical blue ink.  I added some Faber Castell Glass Bead Glitter gel through DecoArt stencil 201705.  

I stamped the bird (Dark Room Door "Garden Birds" stamp set) on watercolor paper using Ranger Jet Black archival ink - then colored it with ShinHan watercolors.  I added drywall tape and cheesecloth and Martha Stewart punch of leaf clusters behind the bird and glued it down.  I then die cut the birds on a wire which was a die I got from the Craft Queen stall at the Brisbane Scrapbooking and Papercraft Expo.  I glued the tag to the little one in piece of the adjoining page and then trimmed the piece down to the shape of the tag.

You Are my Happiness Art journal page

I just finished an art journal page in my Dina Wakeley journal - this was done on one of the burlap pages.

I brushed the burlap with acrylic paint.  I also cut a hole in the bottom left of the burlap and glued my title to the back so that it would peak through the hole.  The paper, die cuts and stamp set were from CreativePl Set "Beach Dreams".

Abstract Art Journal page using Acrylic paint and a used baby wipe

This Art journal page was painted with Acrylic paints.  As I was painting, I wiped the excess paint off on a piece of printer paper so as not to waste it - thinking I could use it in a collage or another journal page.  Also as I was creating this, I wiped up my excess paints from my craft mat, off my hands, and brush with a baby wipe.  As I was trying to figure out what to add to the background, I noticed that my scrap paper and my baby wipe had very similar colors to my background.

I thought, wow, maybe I should put these on this page as well.  I used the scratch paper to make an envelope and I sewed the used baby wipe onto a tag and slipped it inside the envelope.

I used little bits of twine, lace, leftover ribbon bits as the background to my title that I had typed out on my manual typewriter.

Hi Everyone, I've completed another layout for a challenge that I heard about on the following blog:

I absolutely loved this challenge.  I don't tend to lean toward the abstract so this was definitely out of my comfort zone and I so enjoyed doing this layout and was really happy with the way it turned out.

I loved the photo - it is of my son and my daughter-in-law dressed up for a Halloween party as the Joker and Harley Quinn.  I think my daughter-in-law did such a great job on their costumes and make-up!

Me Re-Vamped Spring Wreath

Hi Everyone, I just wanted to share a project I just recently completed.  This is my old sad, in desperate need of updating summer wreath.  I have been using this wreath as my summer wreath for years and I have been looking at it for a couple of seasons now and thinking how sad it looked.  The ribbon and flowers were faded and had mildew spots on them.  I kept thinking what a shame it was that someone who did "crafty" things actually had such a sad wreath displayed on the wall of their front porch sooooooooo.......

I decided to revamp my old wreath and make myself a pretty spring wreath.  I tore everything off of the old wreath and threw everything away except for the nests and the blackbirds.  I painted the black birds with two coats of gesso.  Let that dry and then painted them with one coat of rose acrylic paint and after that was dry, I painted on a thick layer of white glue and the dusted them with diamond dust.  After using hot glue to attach all of the flowers, ferns, grass, nest, birds and wiring on a bow - Voila!  I had myself a new spring wreath.  I'm very happy with the outcome.

"Life's a Beach" Mixed Media Layout

This is one of my favorite photos of my grandson.  I decided to do a mixed media layout of him.  I used acrylic paint and used bubble wrap, Crafter's Workshop "mini Art Is Stencil" and iStencils 27-00104 RSC stencil and drywall tape to create the background.  I added the photo before I did the stenciling so that I could bring the color up onto the edges of the photo.  I then added EK Succes Jolee's "Life's a Beach" Dimensionals Stickers for the Title.  I really love how this one turned out.

Another Mixed Media Layout "Only you can be you and we Like it that Way - Be an Original" This is a photo of my 5 month old Grandson Jack.  Look at that beautiful smile - he is always happy and I wanted to capture that beautiful smile.
