My teabag art for today.  This teabag was already pink from the type of tea.  I left it unprimed - painted the flowers with watercolor and added details with Prisma watercolor pencils.  Stenciled the background with black soot distress ink then added details with permanent black ink pen and white gel pen.

Today's teabag art is a watercolor background with doodling on the top with black permanent ink and white uniball pen.

Tea Bag Art for 12 May 2018 - titled Hope

This is my tea bag art for today May 12, 2018.  This tea bag has a lot of acrylic paint, stenciling, doodling on the background.  I then added bits of used baby wipes that I had saved, twine, and chipboard.  I added some stitching to the large butterfly and some wink of stella, although it is not visible in the photo - it really sparkles.  The tiny butterfly is fabric with a metallic look.  I titled this one "Hope"

Tea Bag Art of the Porgs from Star Wars

Another painting on a used tea bag.  I just love the creatures from the Star Wars movies and these Porgs have to be my favorites.  

The tea bag was primed first with one coat of gesso.  I lightly drew my images with pencil and used watercolor and gouache to color them.  They were outlined with a black permanent pen and white highlights added with a white Posca pen.

Painting on a Used Tea Bag tutorial

This is a tutorial on how I painted this Cheshire cat on a used tea bag.  Please be patient with me - it's not the greatest video but I'm using trial and error on where to place my tripod and video camera so as not to interfere with me and so that I don't interfere with it and I haven't gotten it right yet.

Tea Bag Art - BB8 from Star Wars

I just love the robots and creatures that are developed for the Star Wars series.  Here is my take on BB8 from Star Wars on a used Tea bag.  The tea bag was primed with one coat of gesso, I lightly drew the image with pencil and then used Prisma watercolor pencils, watercolor paints, Black permanent ink pen, and a white posca pen for details and highlights.

I'm trying to do a piece of tea bag art a day.

Tea Bag art using Jane Davenport Beautiful Faces book

Ok, I need a lot more practice, LOL!!  I have Jane Davenport's Beautiful Faces book and Fabulous Figures Book and I am trying to practice drawing women's faces and figures.  This isn't great but I'll do some more practice!!

The tea bag was primed with one coat of gesso first and then I drew the face with a pencil.  I used gouache and watercolor to color her and then used a black permanet pen, Prisma watercolor pencils and a white Posca pen for shadows and highlights.

I hope this gives you inspiration to do your own tea bag art and I'd love to see what you do!!

Be yourself Art Journal page with Teabag Art

My previous post showed some prints that I did on my gelli plate and then I decided I wanted to try to incorporate one of them into an Art Journal page.  This print I made I used as a tipin in front of a watercolor painting in my journal of geishas.

The first thing I did was prime a used tea bag, then I stamped a dragonfly on the tea bag and colored it with my watercolors and gouache.  After the watercolor was applied I did some doodling of flowers on it, mounted it to a piece of watercolor paper and then put them on my background.
