"You may not be perfect but parts of you are really fabulous" 60th Birthday Card

This is a Birthday Card that I made a couple of weeks ago for my husband's 60th Birthday this past Monday.  I used scrap paper from my stash so I cannot remember what paper collection it was from.  The robot was cut using my Robotz Cricut cartridge and I used lime green and Navy cardstock and Red bakers twine.

"I go nuts for you" Scrapbook Layout

I go nuts for you" scrapbook page layout of another of my favorite photos of baby Jack in January 2014 at just a year old. Using We R Memory Keepers Autumn Splendor Designer Paper, die cut leaves using my cricut and then I distressed and colored them with Tattered Angels Bare Metal paint system, jute twine, die cut tags from my cricut and diecuts from the paper collection.

Mixed Media "Angel" Scrapbook Layout with Graphic 45 Secret Garden papers

Back again with another layout.  This layout is of my 3 year old Grand Daughter Gabby.  I Used Graphic 45 Secret Garden Papers,  Manor House flowers, chipboard garden bench, cardstock birdhouse die cut. I used Dylusions Melted Chocolate Spray over a cobblestone mask for the background.  I also then used my Craftersworkshop "Art Is" stencil with some texture paste that I added a little peach acrylic paint to, and then smoothed it across the stencil to leave the little areas of text on the background.  I fussy cut sections of flowers out of the paper and popped it up in the top left, bottom left, and top right corners.  The small flower bottom left with the rhinestone center I made out of silk and I cut the petals with a chipboard template and then glued the layers together.  I crocheted the tiny pink flower with the pearl center (bottom left) and then sewed pearl seed beads around the center and sewed a larger pearl in the center.  The angel is cut from Kaisercraft Sweet Nothings Collection paper "Falling for you" and the title "Angel" was cut using SCAL and my Cricut.  The birdcage is "suspended" from a piece of silver chain with a pink flower and silver leaf dangling from it.  Hope you enjoy!  Thanks for looking!

Imagine the Possibilities - scrapbook Layout of our beautiful Claire Bear

Hello again, I just wanted to share another scrapbook layout that I just completed of my granddaughter Claire.  In this layout, I wanted it to be mostly white because the photograph of her was so beautiful that I wanted the photo to be the main focus of the page.  I added a pop of black (and a little pink thrown in for good measure).  

The larger flower in the top left corner was made with lace from a Kaisercraft Lace Pack White # EM926.  I used the 1" lace for the outer layer and the inner layer was made with the 1/2" lace.  I ran a running stitch along the straight edges of the lace and gathered it.  I then sewed the edges together with the raw edges to the back.  I added layers of netting in between the lace and at the back of the flower.  I also added tiny strips of the netting that I had brushed with white glue and sprinkled with fine white iridescent glitter just under the button. I added a feather and some pearl sprays to the back.  The center is one of Tim Holtz button accoutrements. 

The medium flower was made from white dotted Swiss fabric from an old blouse.  I cut the flower petals with my Tim Holtz Tattered florals edge die - only using the small flowers and I also added netting between the layers.  The Chrysanthemums were cut with my cuttlebug die.  I also used the leaves from this for the bottom right flower.  All of the elements on the page that glitter were covered in white glue with a paint brush and sprinkled with the Martha Stewart glitter called Crystal fine.

At the top right corner I cut the "Imagine" word on my cricut with the Cricut Alphabet.  The shadow was cut in white and the letters in black.  Beneath the word at the top right is an element cut with the Spellbinders die Grate Works.  The black and white strip down the center was a strip of paper that I cut and then using my EK Success Stampa Ma Jig I stamped down the whole piece with my Tim Holtz Stampers anonymous stamp "Components Stamp" with Black Soot distress ink.  

The pink lace border around the photo is cut from Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles.  Other elements on the page included "I love You" and I don't know the name of the set as it is no longer in the package.  The large dove was from Glitz Stamp set called Pretty in Pink.  The chipboard Sticker was from a pack by "Merci" but has no name.  On the white base cardstock, I added the image from a stencil from The Crafter's Workshop #TCW177 with Diamond Glimmer mist but it is not visible in these photos.  I used some white sparkle rick rack trim, black and white ribbon, and white iridescent ribbon.  The butterflies are from Cheery Lynn Designs "Exotic Butterflies" die.  The tiny spiky flowers were made with my Cheery Lynn Designs die called Build a Flower.  The small glittered medallions were cut with the Spellbinder die called Majestic elements.  The vines, small birdhouse and tiny bird were cut with Marianne Creatables die.

The embossing folders I used for the two background rectangles were Cuttlebug "Goochie Script" and Couture Collections "Adagio".  Thank you everyone for looking!  Have a great day.

Dino Hunter Scrapbook Page Layout

Hello Again!  Just another post - hoping everyone had a Great Easter and are enjoying the school holidays with their children.  I have completed another scrapbook page of my handsome grandson Flynn with his dinosaur face paint.  He absolutely is enthralled with dinosaurs so I had to scrap this photo.  The products that I used for this project were Die Cuts with a View Neutrals Cardstock Pack.  Making Memories Glitter Scallop Strip Dilly Dally double sided paper.  The Graphic 45 Christmas Past Collection Letters to Santa.  I cut the dinosaurs, Palm tree, mountains, and tracks with my Dinosaur Tracks Cricut Cartridge.  I cut the leaf fronds and grass with my Close to My Heart Artiste Collection Cricut Cartridge and the lettering from the Cricut Alphabet set.  Everything is distressed with Tim Holtz distress inks, Vintage Photo, Black Soot, Pine Needles and Crushed Olive.  Hope everyone has a wonderful week and will post another page as soon as I finish it.  Thanks for stopping by!

our very own cabbage patch dolls

Hi Everyone, hope you all had a very Happy Easter and were able to spend lots of time with friends and family.  We had a holiday today, and since I only work 3 days a week, I ended up with a 5 day weekend!  Couldn't be happier!
As I had quite a bit of time, I have spent quite a few hours in my craft room.  I am posting a few photos of my latest scrapbook page.
I bought a clown cabbage patch doll in approximately 1986, 1987 in anticipation of maybe having a daughter one day.  Having a daughter was never meant to be, so I saved the doll and after my granddaughters came along, I knew she was meant to belong to them.  These photos were taken in September 2012 when Suri was 2 and Gabby (bottom left) was 3.  Their faces were so tiny that they were able to wear the clown mask from the doll.  Thanks for looking!

The products that I used:

The paper was from Merci "Carnival" paperpack that I purchased at Big W.  I only used one of the patterns (it came with two pages of each and I used both pages - one page used to cut out the stars and the tents at the bottom of the page so that I could pop them up off of the page)  I used my cricut to cut out the circular frame, the octagonal frame, and the Carnival tent frame.  I used the Paper Doll Dress up Cricut Cartridge to cut the carnival tent out of cream colored cardstock.  I cut two tents, the second one out of patterned paper called Be Inspired - from making memories.  The curtains and the scalloped ruffle on the tent were cut away from the patterned  paper die cut and glued on to the cream colored tent die cut.  I fussy cut the stars from one of the papers from the pack, glued them to chipboard and put them on pop dots.  I also fussy cut red paper to add to the flag on the tent.  I used my sizzix alphabet dies to cut the title out of red cardstock.  I used Tim Holtz brushed corduroy distress ink around the edges of the die cuts.  If you have any questions, please let me know.  

"First Boy" Scrapbook page of my grandson

This is the first scrapbook page I have been able to get to of my new Grandson Jack.  The paper is from the free paper "Nature Garden" by Prima that came with my issue of Australian Scrapbook Ideas Magazine.  All of the cogs were cut with svg files on my Cricut.  The dog tag I used a chipboard tag - covered it with silver tape and embossed his name in it with an embossing letter punch set.  I added real metal washers, nuts, and some screws to the center of the cogs as well as some hole enforcers, brads and a button.  All of the cogs are embossed with silver, gold, copper embossing powder.  I hung the word "love" from one of the cogs.  Page layout and design scraplifted from a page designed by Michelle Grant featured in the magazine.  Thanks for looking!

My Best Friend and My #1 Inspiration

This is a scrapbook layout of Tim Holtz and my best friend.  Tim Holtz had come to Australia in June and had attended the Scrapbook and Paper Expo doing demonstrations and promoting new products.  He is my #1 inspiration and I was able to talk to him and get his autograph on my craft apron.  When he left Australia, one of his stops was Severn, MD and my best friend volunteered to work the night he was there.  She told him that I had met him in Brisbane and that I said HI! so he took this photo with her and the sign says "Hey Debbie, remember me?  I love it!  It was a scrapbook layout waiting to happen!

Happy Birthday Card for Gabby

I just wanted to share the Birthday card I designed for my Grand Daughter Gabby.  She is turning 3.  I made a pocket card out of Lilac Cardstock and then adhered a small white paper doily to the front.  I slid a vellum tag that had a lilac string attached onto a lilac ribbon with white polka dots and tied it around the pocket.  I wrote Happy Birthday on the vellum tag with a white gel pin.  The paper doll was a free svg download from www.quillingpatch.com - I used the fairy pattern.  They have some amazing paper doll downloads for various occasions.  I cut it using my Cricut personal die cutting machine.  When I put this doll together, I cut the bodice out of cardstock but taped a piece of irredescent wrapping paper to the bodice.  The two piece skirt pattern was cut out of two shades of plum/purple cardstock and I used the cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder to emboss them with dots.  I then gathered a piece of light gray tulle and used fabric glue to glue it to the top of the skirt and then glued the bodice on top.  I cut two "shoes" by just tracing the feet on cardstock and shaping them like shoes and covered them with purple organza.  I cut two of the hair sections and one of them I put glue tape on the back of and then cut rounded strips from it and glued it down to the base hair section to give it the appearance of real hair.  I then tied a narrow purple ribbon around the bun.  I had a Peachy Keen stamp set for doll faces but they were too big for this size paper doll so I just looked at the stamp and then free hand drew the face on the doll.  I colored the inside of the mouth and the cheeks with a atyou Spica marker"Twinkling like stars" in the color:  14 - Blossom.  I added gold glitter glue to the star at the tip of the wand.  I cut the wings out of clear acetate from recycled packaging and added clear glitter glue that had some irridescent glitter in it.  Thank you for looking.
