My teabag art for today was inspired by Sue Kemnitz art

My last teabag for about a month - we leave tonight for the UK with our two mothers!  I decided I didn't want the pressure of having to do one everyday while we are away.  I'll just try to do some paintings in my travel art journal.  This was an unused teabag primed with clear gesso and painted with watercolor and gouache.  Details added with black ink pen and prisma watercolor pencils.  This was inspired by the art of Sue Kemnitz.

My teabag art for today.

My teabag art for today is a mixed media piece.  This was a used teabag primed with clear gesso.  The background was done with watered down dylusions paints and then I tore out a strip and a circle from an old gelli print and drew and cut out some hearts and sewed them on with my sewing machine.  I added bits of crochet yarn and cheesecloth.  I also did some doodling in the background with black ink and white posca pen.

Another Art Journal Page Completed

Another Art Journal page completed in my small mont marte journal.  The background was painted with black gesso.  I then stenciled the butterfly with white gesso using a large stencil I have from the Crafter's Workshop TCW206.  Then using rose Quartz, Pomegranate see, and funky fuchsia Dylusions paints, I did a color fade over the white gesso through the stencil.  I used iridescent medium through a Heidi Swapp stencil in some areas of the background and then did some asemic writing in the background with white gel pen.  The title is from the Dina Wakley Stamp set Scribbly insects.

Another Art Journal page completed. "Love Note"

I just finished this art Journal page titled "Love Note".  This is another entry for the Dina Monthly Facebook challenge (to do something with a watercolor look) in my large Dina Wakley journal on one of the cotton rag pages.  I primed it with white gesso.  I then watered down some Dina Wakley paints (Lemon, Lime, Eggplant) and added them to the page.  Then I added some stenciling with various stencils using the same paints but not watered down.  I did a bit of random stamping in black archival ink.  The word love is from a die set from Elizabeth craft designs "Sentiments 2 Just Because" and the word love was stamped on white cardstock and fussy cut out (not sure where these stamps are from)  The tag was a clothing tag that I did the same crylic paint process to and then stamped one of the faces from the Dina Wakley "Words in Faces" stamp set with black acrylic paint.  Last I added some gold leaf hearts one to the tag and one to the background.

My teabag art for yesterday. My reference photo was one I took while in Vietnam

My teabag art for today was inspired by a photo we took in Vietnam (I actually bought one of their mats when there, back in Australia when asked did you buy anything wooden or any kind of mat or straw so we said yes.  Then they inspected it they just banged it on the counter and all of these bugs fell out so needless to say we didn't get to keep it - it was destroyed)  This was an unused teabag primed with clear gesso and painted with watercolor and gouache.  Details added with black ink pen and prisma watercolor pencils.

2019 Mother's Day Card

The Mother's Day card for my mother (made another for my mother-in-law very similar).  I stamped the flowers from Dina Wakley Good Idea Stamp set with versamark ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I wet the flower petals and sprinkled over some Lindy's Magnolia Magenta gold magicals powder and then wet the leaves and sprinkled over some Kiwi Color Crush powder and then gave the whole thing a light mist of water to make everything bleed more.

My entry for the May 2019 Dina Wakley Facebook group challenge

This is my entry for the Dina Wakley Facebook group May 2019 challenge:  "Happiness is not a station you arrive at but a manner of traveling".  The challenge was to do something in watercolor.  This was a cotton rag page in my Dina journal and I used eggplant, Lime, Olive and black scribble sticks watered down as my watercolor background - did some stamping with my black scribble stick.  I used dina's stamp set "Text and scribbles" and my sewing machine on some strips and circles cut from leftover gell plate prints.  The title is from Verses rubber stamp company "Along the way".  the circle and stitches stamped on the background is a stamp set from Carabelle Studios SA60184.  The butterfly is from a Roben Marie Smith downloadable.

My teabag art for today is another mixed media piece.

My teabag art for today is another mixed media piece.  This was a used teabag and I have quite a bit of trouble getting these Nerada teabags apart.  The seams are sealed and I usually tear them so badly I cannot use them but this one just ended up with a hole on the side so I glued the tag to the back behind the hole.  This was painted with watercolor, gouache and prisma watercolor pencils.  Details added with black ink pen and posca pens.  I added a ribbon bow.
