Mixed media teabag art for today is sewing themed.
My teabag art for today. This was a used teabag primed with clear gesso. The background was made with a text stamp, versamark ink and copper embossing powder and then sprayed with several colors of Glimmer mist and color shine. I then stitched on a piece of brown satin, plastic webbing and a piece of a clothing pattern. Diecut ephemera added on top - not sure where they came from - had them in my stash.

My teabag art for today is another mixed media with a butterfly as the focus
My teabag art for today - I think I rescued this one. I'm happy with it anyway. I had painted a floral with watercolor on the teabag and I just didn't like it. I was going to paint over the whole thing with white gesso and start over and I looked at it and thought what if I put a circle or something over just the bloom parts and painted around it so I looked through my templates and I had a butterfly so I placed it where I wanted and painted around it with black acrylic paint. Then I thought, ok, now what - I love the butterfly part but??? So I wrote on the black paint with a white gel pen and black ink pen and added a bit of stenciling with acrylic paint and was pleased with the results. Funny how that happens.

Tim Holtz die to cut my tag

My teabag art is another mixed media piece about travel
Another mixed media piece for my teabag today. This was a used teabag primed with clear gesso and painted with acrylic paints. Details added with paint through various stencils. I usedthe dark blue paint watered down to color the cheesecloth. I then added a small photo of a building in Prague by stitching it on my sewing machine and also stitched the word travel on muslin on my machine. Very similar colors to the teabag yesterday but instead of Charcoal gray as my "dark" I used a color called Soldier Blue.

My teabag art for today is an abstract
A piece of abstract art on my teabag today. This was a used teabag primed with clear gesso. I then used my glue gun to spread strings and globs of glue on it. I then painted it with watercolors but the watercolor wouldn't really stay on the glue (my original idea was to have the color reflecting through theclear glue, unfortunately my glue sticks were so old they had yellowed and I didn't like the color) so I Painted the glue with acrylics and when it was dry I added glass beads and iridescent medium to the glue and beads.

The first thing I did was paint the page with black gesso. I added texture paste through the viney stencil and let it dry. I then sprayed the ink sprays in various places around the background and let it dry. I then put white gesso on my finger and rubbed the areas with the ink spray to activate the inks and it turned it into the look of chalk paint. Crackle medium was added to some of the raised viney pattern and the butterflies.

My teabag art for yesterday was a Yorkie
My teabag art for yesterday was inspired by a lovely lady named Charolette who lost her Yorkie named Tye. She was so heartbroken I did a drawing for her of him on this used teabag. It was a used teabag primed with clear gesso. The base was watercolor and then I added details with Prisma watercolor pencils and black ink pen.

My teabag art for today is a Redback spider.
My teabag art for today is a redback spider. I do realize it is the wrong type of web for this spider - their web is really messy but that was beyond my skillset, LOL! This was a used teabag primed with clear gesso and painted with watercolor and gouache. Details added with Prisma Watercolor pencils and black ink pen.
