Set of Decorated Cards with my handmade Flowers for a Flower Swap
Hi Everyone, just wanted to share a group of 5 cards with flowers that I am submitting for a flower swap on MAS. (minialbumscraps.ning.com). I To participate in the swap, everyone has to submit 5 decorated cards with 3 flowers on each card. I have my "Traditional Xmas Collection" which consists of 2 poinsettias and 1 tapestry ribbon rose with a handmade stick pin on a decoupaged tag. One is "It's Spring Again Collection" that contains 2 tulips (Penny Duncan Creations cut files) and one Gabrielle and one altered Gabrielle that I made following Gabrielle Pollaco's tutorial on her beautiful flowers. I also made the butterfly following the tutorial by Penny Duncan. I beaded a lavender spray that is wired through the punched hole of the tag. This tag was made using a mask of pine branches and rubbing over it with fall colors of ink. The "Ribbon Flower Collection" consists of: the top two are made from grosgrain ribbon and the bottom one is made from "Happy Birthday" satin ribbon and I have beaded a bumble bee and attached it to the flower. The tag is stamped with the Stampabilities wooden mounted Music Collage stamp and embossed with black embossing powder. Another is "Moulin Rouge Collection" The tag has been decorated with the Tim Holtz COMO15Paris Stamp and embossed with black embossing powder and I also stamped a butterfly from Bright Ideas collection and embossed with red embossing powder. The center of the black organza lollipop flower is an acrylic flower with a rhinestone center and it has 3 feathers and a string of red pearls and the other two flowers are poppies made with Tim Holtz pine cone die. The last is "Into the Wild Collection" The pine cone spray is made with the Tim Holtz pine cone die and I decorated it with white puff paint and white irridescent glitter. The other two blossoms are Australian gumnut blossoms that I hand cut and decorated with the same sprigs cut from the Tim holtz die. I put glossy accents on the tips of the petals and dipped them in gold glitter and highlighted the leaves with black stayz on ink. This I made following a tutorial on youtube by Valita (http://www.youtube.com/user/vadeler)
Thank you for looking and if you have any questions, please let me know.
Thanks,
Debbie

GP Flower and PDC Butterfly
Hi Everyone,
Just thought I would share the talents of these two artists. I have just tried the flower that Gabrielle Pollaco (http://gabriellepollacco.blogspot.com) has a tutorial on. I had to alter it somewhat because I did not have the punch that she used for the center of the flower but I managed it by using the smallest flower on the Tim Holtz tattered Florals die and it worked out just fine. Then I made the gorgeous butterfly that Penny Duncan (http://pennyduncancreations.blogspot.com) designed and created. She also has svg files and tutorials on how to use them and how to make her designs. I will have to borrow more of their designs because they really are talented and inspiring.

A Moment in time
Another layout that I completed with a photo of me with my son and my Grand Daughter Claire. The photo was taken in May/June 2011 when I visited them. I used a piece of beige cardstock and a lacy vintage looking paper that I had in my stash for the background. I used a distress ink on the cardstock and also stamped flowers around the outside edge with the same distress ink. I also distressed the edges. I cut the circle using my george basic shapes cricut cartridge and painted it with cream acrylic paint, then applied crackle medium and then brown acrylic paint to crackle the finish. I then applied some turquoise acrylic paint using a dry brush technique and it ended up looking like a copper finish that had weathered. I cut the birdhouse and cupid out of a svg file with SCAL software using my cricut and also applied the crackle finish to the bird cage. All of the flowers are handmade. The one in the top left corner is just made from gathered lace with a button. The large flowers were made from the Tim Holtz die "tattered florals" and the small roses were made with cream card stock and several layers of scallop punched circles that I punched using a scallop punch that I have. The leaves also were made using a punch and then distressed with inks and chalks. The small rosebud type shapes were made by gluing two irridescent beads to a florist wire and then I cut some teardrop shaped card stock and rolled one teardrop around the beads and then glued one teardrop on either side of the rolled shape. These cream colored flowers were all chalked with a peach colored chalk.
Accident Prone
Hi Everyone,
This is a layout I did of my Grand Daughter who had accidentally found and taken some ibuprofen and had been rushed to the hospital. (One of my older grand daughters had figured out how to get the lid off of the bottle and had scattered them around the room and Suri got ahold of some) It was so scary and my son took this photo with his iphone and sent it to me to reassure me that she was ok. It is very hard for me because I live in Australia and my son and his daughters are in Missouri in the US.
I used the Graphic 45 "Curtain Call" for the background paper and mounted it on cream colored cardstock. I cut a square in the center and folded back the paper to create a "frame" around the photo and attached the points with black star brads. I tore sections out of the edge of the background paper and stamped portions of one of my flower stamps with versa mark embossing ink and then embossed them with black embossing powder. I then stamped "poison" with one of my halloween stamps and OOXX with another stamp I have and embossed them and slid them inside the tears on the edge of the page. 2 of the flowers are made from grosgrain ribbon and the 3rd is from a wired ribbon that I shaped into a rose. The center of the polka dot flower is from an old costume jewelery ring that I had and I just snapped the ring off of the back and glued it to the center. The title was made using rub ons applied to cream colored ribbon and the bandaid was from a sheet of Jolee stickers that I have had for a long time. I stamped portions of my "Music Collage" stamp (by stampabilities) on the tag and on the torn paper at the bottom right of the photo and then embossed with black embossing powder.

My 2011 Xmas Card Design
Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to share my 2011 Xmas Card. I used a stampin up stamp called Happy Christmas Mate from 2009-2010 collection. I stamped it on watercolor paper and then used watercolor pencils to color the design and then I scanned it and duplicated it multiple times on a page and printed the images on watercolor paper so that I did not have to color each one. I had so many cards to do I didn't have time to color each one. I apologize but I do not know the name of the paper I used for the background or the paper I used to cut he flowers from. It was something I picked up from my local scrapbook store and had what I interpreted as waves and hibiscus flowers which was appropriate for an Australian Xmas Card. I scanned in one of the flowers and imported it into word as a watermark and then Typed Happy Holidays mate over the water mark and I used a diecut to cut out the stamp. I then used stickles for the lights and the centers of the flowers on his swim trunks, puff paint on his beard and then glossy accents for the splashes of water. Thanks for looking!

2011 Xmas Card
Hi everyone, just thought I would share my Christmas Card that I created for 2011. I stamped the image with stampin up stamp but I had so many cards to make that I decided to water color the image, scan it and then print 30 of them on card stock so that I didn't have to stamp and color all of them! I then used stickles and puff paint to embellish each one. I loved the way it turned out and my family in the US should get a kick out of the Australian theme!
