Me Re-Vamped Spring Wreath

Hi Everyone, I just wanted to share a project I just recently completed.  This is my old sad, in desperate need of updating summer wreath.  I have been using this wreath as my summer wreath for years and I have been looking at it for a couple of seasons now and thinking how sad it looked.  The ribbon and flowers were faded and had mildew spots on them.  I kept thinking what a shame it was that someone who did "crafty" things actually had such a sad wreath displayed on the wall of their front porch sooooooooo.......

I decided to revamp my old wreath and make myself a pretty spring wreath.  I tore everything off of the old wreath and threw everything away except for the nests and the blackbirds.  I painted the black birds with two coats of gesso.  Let that dry and then painted them with one coat of rose acrylic paint and after that was dry, I painted on a thick layer of white glue and the dusted them with diamond dust.  After using hot glue to attach all of the flowers, ferns, grass, nest, birds and wiring on a bow - Voila!  I had myself a new spring wreath.  I'm very happy with the outcome.

"Love Notes: My Bubba" Mixed Media Scrapbook Layout

Love Notes:  My Bubba - Mixed Media Layout of my Granddaughter Claire Bear with her "Bubba".  She loves her little brother.  Even though I cringe when she calls him Bubba, it needs to be documented nonetheless!!!  I love this photo - it shows the love she has for Jack and the appreciation he has for her love and attention.  This page was created with Recollections Love Letters Papers, Crafters Workshops 12x12 stencil Flutterby, Prima Stencil set 655350-2010-08, Mini Art Is Stencil, Pearl Ex in Copper, texture paste, white chalk ink, copper embossing powder, Heartfelt creations stamp HCPC 3320, Kaisercraft Flutter and Arty stamps, Free grass svg cut file from Birds Cards, Free birdhouse svg cut file from Paper Crafting World, and cuttlebug die "honeycomb" for flowers.

Happy Father's Day card for my Hubby

This is the Father's Day card I made for my husband this year.  I used a beautiful digital file from Mo's digital's for the train engineer and colored it with water color pencils and a water pen.  (It is also available in a Penny Black stamp).  I used a cuttlebug chicken wire embossing folder and a herringbone embossing folder for the back ground.  I added some blue rhinestones.  The title was stamped with a stamp from the set Paper Xtra Stamp Set # 45810.  He loved the card because he really loves vintage trains.

Noteworthy "You Little Ripper" Layout

This layout is of my beautiful granddaughter Suri.  She is such a little character and so fun to scap!  She has such a personality, is extremely outgoing and is always happy and talkative.  The scrapbook layout back ground was using Creative PL "Amelie" Paper Pack from Aldi, and to create some more dimension to the background I inked using the Crafters Worksop "Mini Art Is" stencil, then I did some stamping with Leeza Gibbons Wishes and Dreams stamp set, Prima Life Time Collection stamps, Stampin Bella In So Many Words stamp set, Woodware Craft Collection Inspirational Verses stamp set and Paper Xtra Australia Series # 93857.  The Musical notes and arrows were die cut on my Cricut.  I also fussy cut some extra flowers from the paper to pop up on foam dots.

"Life's a Beach" Mixed Media Layout

This is one of my favorite photos of my grandson.  I decided to do a mixed media layout of him.  I used acrylic paint and used bubble wrap, Crafter's Workshop "mini Art Is Stencil" and iStencils 27-00104 RSC stencil and drywall tape to create the background.  I added the photo before I did the stenciling so that I could bring the color up onto the edges of the photo.  I then added EK Succes Jolee's "Life's a Beach" Dimensionals Stickers for the Title.  I really love how this one turned out.

"A True Classic" Vintage Birthday Card for my Brother

This was a birthday card that I made for my younger brother for his birthday.  It wasn't my original idea.  I found a similar one on pinterest.  I used Cratepaper, Inc. Random Collection papers, a Victorian Map that I printed from the internet for the background behind the car, fired brick distress ink, bakers twine and the title was printed on my computer.  The Car was a stamp that I had and I colored it with distress markers.

Nightmare Before Christmas Clock

My daughter in law is obsessed with Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas Movie so I told her I would make her something with the Nightmare Before Christmas theme so here is my take on it.  I hand painted the background of Tim and Sally and bumped it up in front of a handpainted rendition of a scary halloween background that I painted, added a decoupaged RIP headstone, a handpainted pumpkin, some diecut and distressed leaves, some jute twine and a die cut spider.  For the clock itself, it is a Tim Holtz Ideology Assemblage clock that I added a time mechanism to. I gessoed the clock, then  painted it in flat black acrylic paint.  When that was dry, I sprayed it with Tattered Angels Haunted Shadows Glimmer mist which gave it a purple tint. I then cross stitched some little patchwork pieces to mimic sally's dress and added them to random places around the clock.  I died some flowers and seam binding using Tattered Angels Haunted Shadow Glimmer Mist and Heidi Swapp Black Velvet Color Shine.  I stamped some random stamps and embossed them in silver embossing powder randomly on the clock.  The flowers are Kaiser craft and some from bargain city, a scary tree svg file I found on a google sear, I use black diamond stickles on the tree and the spider, florist wire for the spirals and added  a skeleton, a skeleton hand, and a bat charm.  She said she loved it!  Thank you for looking.

"He's 1" Little Boy First Birthday Layout

This is a layout of my grandson Jack.  He has just turned 1.  This was taken at his birthday party.  I love the look on his face.  It's almost as if he is totally bored with the whole picture taking process!  This was done on white cardstock.  I used Martha Stewart embossing powder, scraps from my crap pile, Stampers Anonymous "Artful Artifacts CMS080" Stamp, Circle Punches, Tim Holtz Rosette Die and yellow chalk.
